Orange, turquoise, natural white and blended browns across a variegated skein, inspired by the pretty feathers of the kingfisher.

'Halcyon' is the Greek word for Kingfisher, itself named after the goddess Alcyone. Alcyone was transformed into a beautiful bird along with her husband Ceyx, who had perished in a storm. The gods gave them a period of calm weather every year, during which they could nest. To this day, we use the phrase 'Halcyon Days' to describe a time of peace and calm. We could all do with some of that.
